Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a unique form of
"Psychological acupuncture" that uses the ancient Chinese
meridian system to relieve psychological stress and physiological
pain. EFT balances the energy system with a tapping procedure which
stimulates designated meridian endpoints on the face and body.
Fortunately, many of the points that are near the beginning or end of
these meridians are on the bone or close to the surface of the skin,
and so can be stimulated by tapping on them with your fingertips (the
deeper points need the acupuncture needles). So you can give yourself
an energy balancing treatment by tapping on certain points on your
face, torso, and/or hand. They are quick, easy, safe, gentle, and
surprisingly powerful. Unlike other energy healing methods, EFT
incorporates an emotional element to the healing process, addressing unresolved emotional issues as a likely cause of physical disease, cronic negative emotions, and person performance limits.
Negative emotions – such as those that block us
from attracting what we consciously say we want – are caused by
disruption in this energy system. By tapping on key points, we
balance the energy and clear the blocks.
Negative emotional experiences disrupt the energy meridians that
run through our body. The physical changes we feel from those
disruptions, like nausea or anxiety, become attached to the memory of
that experience and affect the way we see the world…until we heal
that disruption. Properly applied, EFT quickly realigns the energy
meridians with respect to negative memories, disconnects the physical
discomfort that we attached to it, and quite often removes the
resulting symptoms.

Something more than insight is needed when it comes to solving a
problem, and that's where EFT is so powerful and
helpful. By focusing on a thought, the one with the "charge"
to it (and often, just a specific piece of it), and then tapping on
it, we can discharge some of the energy that's keeping it stuck, and
make it more open to change. Keep doing the technique on the next
specific piece of it, and then the next, and pretty soon the whole
thing collapses because there's no more energy/emotion keeping it
stuck, and you are free, really free, to create something new.
EFT continues to provide encouraging results,
even with newcomers applying EFT to themselves. Some
cases are more complex, however, and may require more detailed
attention from an experienced EFT Practitioner.
